I started on this adventure unknowing exactly what I would be doing, besides driving. I like doing that,. Back 4 months or so I worried about What could happen, then some where along thought I I thought about that too much SOMETHING Bad would happen. SO I started on this journey to see those places I had never seen. National Park - Arches, Bryce and Zion.
I took out my pastels and painted at Zion. It was a cool morning, but upon arriving there, it was in the 80’s . After hiking a bit, I caught the bus back to my car and proceeded to sit up. The process takes too long, I thought. It was hard not to paint given the Beautiful Views. An hour into drawing something, I was sold. I could do this for hours.
I lasted about 3 hours, then the heat, forgetting not to drink water, exhausted my energy to paint. I have a couple of sketches; I will post the photo here.
I wondered if there were a quicker way to paint in pastel, perhaps a different easel, a different carrying case. One day at a time. I’ll try again tomorrow. ~ at another forest up the road. Follow me on this Journey.

seems I was standing on a rocky shore, looking over at a couple of large boulders, as the waves rolled in. Looking up were several trees, the shadows were beautiful and the simple green colors some touched by light, some hiding in the darkness. Pine trees on top of rock - a simple Maine view. This is a 7” high by 5” wide pastel drawing. I like the variety of colors that can pop, as I draw.
Thank you for visiting ~
